Big November Update!

Banquet ReportWhat an awesome evening at the Mission Barnabas banquet. Once again the venue was over the top, the food was incredible and some said the cheesecake was the best they ever had (thanks Karen Gainey). The banquet room was full and we saw many new faces and now new friends. The “spirit” in the room was so great and we could feel the love and support for the work in Kenya. All of the reports given as well as where we are headed was well received. The joy of what has been accomplished and the excitement of what we are doing in 2017 has been reflected in the monies given and pledged. This banquet saw the largest financial commitments to date. We are off and running now on our 2017/2018 projects. If you missed the banquet and would like to help us build the new dormitory you can make a donation or monthly pledge through our website or send a donation to our mailbox. www.missionbarnabas.us Need your helpFor the past 13 years we have been so blessed to have warehouse space provided by Wellspring Church in N.Richland Hills, Texas. However, the church is making changes with the warehouse and beginning sometime in December we may no longer have access to the same space we had. We will be in need of warehouse/storage space next month and if anyone knows of a possibility please contact us. Sea Container loading earlier….We need to have the next sea container in Kenya by the end of February this year. To make sure that happens we will be shipping the container out by December 15. If you have books, computers, guitars, etc. for Africa please bring them by the warehouse or get them to us by December 1. We will be sending the final list for the inspection by that date. We are in need of as many books as possible this time as we are setting up a library for our new college, which will open in September. Also, if you have access to great buys on writing notebooks, ink pens, etc. for the students that would be helpful. As always, we are in need of smartphones, laptops, good flat screen monitors and any sound equipment. The warehouse is located at 7300 Smithfield Rd. N. Richland Hills, Texas. Construction Has Started!!In August we turned over the first shovel of dirt on the construction of the new dormitory. This will be 3 floors, 40 rooms and sleep hundreds of pastors. The next phase is to construct the infrastructure/roof, floors and outside walls. The monies given so far provided the funds we have needed for permits, foundational work, architect/engineer work, etc. Within the next couple of weeks the concrete columns and beams will be going up. Once the structure is up, the roof on and the outside walls are done, we will be able to use the open space inside for any large conferences to sleep delegate on cots rather than in tents. This next phase will cost approximately $170,000.00. At present we have in commitments, giving and pledges approximately $75,000.00-90,000.00. We believe that between now and the end of the year that this number will increase to well over $100.000.00. We then believe that once the infrastructure is well on its well that the remaining funds needed will be given If you haven’t given or pledged toward this as yet, please prayerfully consider this. This is a great investment and the more pastors we can accommodate the greater our impact on changing the nation(s). Bible College to start in September 2017!!For a number of years it has been a dream and desire that one day we might have a Bible college on site at CMM. My goals have been that we would have a college that would have a solid curriculum; it would work for a pastor so that he/she could work it in their schedule; it would be affordable and the cherry on the cake would be that it would have an authentic accreditation. God has helped us find and develop such a college. After much due diligence, searching, meetings we will launch a Bible college in September 2017. A pastor will be able to obtain a Bachelor of Theology degree over a 4 year period that has 2 accreditations for $3,000.00 (inclusive of tuition, room and board, books and fees). At present over 1,000 potential students have filled out an interest survey/contact form that represents strong interest and indicates they are more than 50% certain they will pursue this training. We believe that once we officially announce, set the dates, advertise and put forth applications that the interest will multiply. We are in need of purchasing the textbooks for the first year students. If you know of any place that sells used religious books that would be a big help. Please contact us if you know of places to pursue great used textbooks. Our hearts are full from all the encouragement, response and support that you have given to us. We are so excited to be a part of what God is going to do in Kenya in 2017. Thank you for your heart for missions and your love for Africa. Ronnie and Debbie |
